The dynamics of the business world is changing everyday and perhaps at a speed which very few can fathom. Professionals are now expected to take over management functions and positions that sometimes expose them to situations that they are not used to, as a result of their academic backgrounds.
That is the single most pedagogic focus that we, at Pillai HOC Institute of Management Studies and Research (PHiMSR) have been inculcating in our students. The business of career education is going to increasingly need to be, not an adjunct, but a central part of higher education. Finally, we are going to need in the years ahead to bring our corporations and students closer together. Whether it is in achieving the commitment that we need to have as an Institution in managing diversity, or whether it is in pursuing many of the great intellectual opportunities which lie not within a single discipline or a single area, but across sectors, bringing this merger of need and deliverance together, will be a final major challenge for the years ahead.
